LIGHT IS BEAUTIFUL

I have long been fascinated with electricity, light, and design. Beginning in early childhood, scouring garage sales with my mom to find any electronics to take apart and put back together – or invent something new entirely – invention, creativity, and innovation have always been driving forces in my life. In college I bounced between the three of these, considering majoring in Computer Science, then choosing Music, and finally switching to Communication Design (commonly known as graphic design). After graduation I accepted an internship at Philips Lighting, who appreciated my unique combination of outside-the-box creative thinking, critical engineering skills, and design capabilities. Eventually I was hired as an Industrial Designer, and won a Spark award and several ADEX awards, among others, for my contributions to Philips Lighting models. Later I was promoted to Engineer even though I don't hold the degree, for my experience and contributions in that field.

With Slant Lamps, I've channeled my passion for lighting, design, and functionality into unique pieces designed to slip into your environment as simple works of art, but be critical to your day for their utilitarian purposes.
